Litigation firm Berg & Androphy and a former legal assistant who sued the partnership for racial bias have ended their dispute, according to a Monday notice in a New York federal court.

A Black former legal assistant at Berg & Androphy has urged a Manhattan federal court not to toss her suit against the firm and its managing partner, saying she was treated “like a servant” and fired for complaining about repeated incidents of race discrimination.

A female Indeed Inc. account executive who says she was raped two weeks into her career and that the company turned a blind eye to her complaints about that and other workplace harassment must take her case to arbitration, a federal judge in Manhattan ruled.

May 18, 2020 – Young & Ma LLP, together with its co-counsel Golenbock Eiseman Assor Bell & Peskoe LLP, filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court, Southern District of New York, on behalf of a Senior Account Executive at Indeed, Inc., alleging that her supervisor declined to take action when she reported being raped by an Indeed manager during a company orientation program for new hires. The lawsuit alleges that the online job placement company then discriminated and retaliated against her by denying her promotions and advancement opportunities, refusing to grant her reasonable accommodations for medical conditions caused or exacerbated by the rape, and eventually trying to coerce her to resign through threats from Human Resources.
